About MLS Serving families of Brooklyn and Queens, the mission of Martin Luther School (MLS) is to offer an outstanding alternative: college preparatory education within the Christian experience. This is accomplished by approaching the needs of the student as a whole, nourishing the academic, spiritual and physical growth of each youth on a daily basis. MLS has a racially diverse student body, broadly representative of the demographics of its community. Classes average about 25 students each, creating an excellent teacher-to-pupil ratio and an environment conducive to learning. To make attendance attainable for all, and to ensure that MLS is a true asset to the community, financial aid and scholarships are readily available to those in need. MLS’s outstanding academic program offers classes in Honors and Advanced Placement as well as a state-of-the-art computer lab and Smart Classrooms. Students are encouraged to explore unique and challenging classes in Marine Biology, Mythology, Robotics and Computer Systems. In the past two years alone, MLS students have received honors from the National Merit Scholarship and National Hispanic Recognition Programs. MLS also offers a comprehensive athletic program, giving student-athletes the opportunity to compete against area schools in basketball, baseball, cross country, soccer, softball, tennis, track and field, volleyball and wrestling. Rounding out the Martin Luther School experience are opportunities to explore different cultures through language clubs; learning desktop publishing and digital photography through the student-produced yearbook and newspaper; and participating in our Fine Arts Program, which produces three shows each year and provides opportunities to learn all aspects of theater and stagecraft. For information about enrollment at Martin Luther School, please call (718) 894-4000 or log on to our website at www.MartinLutherNYC. org.
