“Feed Your Soul: Our bodies need nourishment every day. So we feed them. We give them water. We make sure we get enough rest. Our souls need nourishment every day, too. Do you feed your soul with spiritual food through the Holy Communion & receiving confession? Do you pray everyday?

Advent reflection Advent is the time we prepare for Christ. It’s the great liturgical season of waiting— but not a passive waiting. We yearn, we search, and we reach out for the God who will come to us in human flesh. It’s the liturgical season of vigilance, or, to put it more mundanely, of waiting. During the four weeks of Advent, we prepare for the celebration of Christ’s birth through prayer and reflection. We contemplate the First Coming of Jesus as Savior, and anticipate his promised Second Coming. And amid the flurry of Christmas preparations, we look for practical ways to observe the holiness of the season in our everyday lives. May we spend these holy days together, journeying through Advent like the Magi on our way to the newborn king. Adviento es el momento en que nos preparamos para Cristo. Es la gran temporada litúrgica de espera, pero no una espera pasiva. Anhelamos, buscamos y buscamos al Dios que vendrá a nosotros en carne humana. Es el tiempo litúrgico de vigilancia o, para decirlo de manera más mundana, de esperar. Durante las cuatro semanas de Adviento, nos preparamos para la celebración del nacimiento de Cristo a través de la oración y la reflexión. Contemplamos la Primera Venida de Jesús como Salvador, y anticipamos su prometida Segunda Venida. Y en medio de la ráfaga de preparativos navideños, buscamos formas prácticas de observar la santidad de la temporada en nuestra vida cotidiana.
