Halton Hills Lifeguard Club shines at provincial competition HALTON HILLS, ON – On the weekend of June 20-21, 19 members of the Halton Hills
Lifeguard Club travelled to Owen Sound to compete in the 2015 Ontario Junior Lifeguard Games. Club members competed in seven different lifesaving sport events, and placed an impressive fourth overall out of 13 teams. The weekend saw many amazing performances, with local athletes hauling in provincial podium finishes and shattering their personal best times. Jordan Stott and Dominic Vulpoi each won recognition as the top athlete in their respective age groups, while Daniel Stott, Noah Farragos and Danielle Taran each took third place overall in their categories. Elise Malicki, Ben Holcomb and Lucas Farragos, among others, all contributed to the team’s strong overall finish by swimming to personal best times. The club also turned in strong relay performances, with the girls’ team finishing first in the 200m medley relay and the boys finishing second in the 100m medley relay and third in the 200m medley relay. “The Halton Hills Lifeguard Club is an exciting way for youth to stay active, learn a new sport and be part of a team. I congratulate all these young athletes and their families on representing our community so well on the provincial level,” said Mayor Rick Bonnette.
