MEDIA RELEASE September 13, 2017
Vision Georgetown Public Open House & Online Survey HALTON HILLS, ON The Vision Georgetown project – the planning blueprint for the new growth area in Georgetown -- has entered the next phase with the development of a draft land use concept. There’s a few different ways that residents can offer input; two online surveys are available at letstalkhaltonhills.ca. This tool gives residents the opportunity to comment on whether the proposed land use concept implements the project’s ‘Guiding Principles’ and share their thoughts on the elements that make up the ‘community core’ – a central part of the plan. Residents may also attend an open house on September 20 at Christ the King Secondary School, 161 Guelph Street beginning at 6:30 pm. “This is an opportunity for residents to have their say, share their views and priorities”, said Mayor Bonnette. “This is a consultation where the Town is going to present information and we’re going to listen and learn and discuss the concept. Staff will consider public comments and make recommendations on proposed changes to the concept through a report back to Council.” The Open House will feature a presentation, facilitator-led group exercises and an opportunity to ask questions. To assist with staffing arrangements, the Town is requesting that people RSVP for the event by calling 905-873-2601 ext. 2377 or email:
