ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS REVISED AUGUST 10, 2017 Subject to conditions prescribed by the undersigned, sealed bids for a Contract are invited for the following Work: CRP17 Gustafson Path of Travel PROJECT NO. 12831A Estimated Construction Cost: $550,000 UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA BERKELEY, CA; ALAMEDA COUNTY DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Demolish existing asphalt and subgrade on Girton Road per the documents. Provide and install new concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter, per the construction documents. Provide and install new street lighting, foundations and wiring as shown. Import new baserock, compact and install new asphalt roadway. BIDDER QUALIFICATIONS: To allow the University to evaluate bidders, each bidder must submit with its bid, a Contractor’s Special Statement of Experience. This Contractor’s Special Statement of Experience must be provided on the Contractor’s letterhead. If your firm provides inaccurate or incomplete information your firm will be found non-responsive. If your firm receives negative project references they may be found non-responsive. To be eligible for consideration of award, the Contractor’s Special Statement of Experience must include: 1. Documentation that the bidder has successfully completed the following: 1. A minimum of three (3) and a maximum of five (5) Concrete and Asphalt Paving projects completed in the past five (5) years that meet the criteria listed below and demonstrate the bidder’s ability to successfully complete the project with respect to project size, cost, use, complexity, etc. DO NOT include projects currently under construction. 2. All submitted projects must be within the immediate nine Bay Area counties. 3. Include the following for each project: (a) project name, (b) owner’s name, (c) contract value at award, (d) total Change Order value, (e) completion date, (f) Owner’s Representative address and current phone number and (g) brief scope. 2. All paving projects on all UC Campuses within the last 5 years. 3. Statement must include the following declaration: I,

You may view the planholders list on our website (posted within 24 hours of Pre-Bid Conference) Bids received only at: UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, BERKELEY Construction & Design, Contract Administration 1936 University Avenue, Room 222, Berkeley, CA 94704-7027 Sealed Bids must be received on or before 2:00 P.M., August 24, 2017. Sealed Bids will not be accepted after 2:00 P.M., August 24, 2017. A MANDATORY Pre-Bid Conference and Site Visit will be conducted on August 15, 2017, beginning promptly at 1:30 P.M. Participants shall meet at Girton Road and Gayley Road. Only bidders who participate in the Pre-Bid Conference in its entirety, will be allowed to bid on the Project as prime contractors. NOTE: Prospective bidders will find that parking may be difficult. The Owner recommends that you allow ample time to find a parking space, walk to and locate the starting point from which the MANDATORY Pre-Bid Site Visit will begin. Prospective bidders arriving late after the MANDATORY Pre-Bid Site Visit has commenced (i.e., more than 15 minutes after the published starting time.) will not be allowed to submit a bid as a prime contractor for this project. Prospective bidders must be present for the entire Pre-Bid Site Visit. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. No contractor or subcontractor, regardless of tier, may be listed on a Bid for, or engage in the performance of, any portion of this project, unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 and 1771.1. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University policy. Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The successful Bidder and its Subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents and to pay prevailing wage rates at the location of the Work. The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $13 per hour as of 10/1/15, $14 per hour as of 10/1/16, and $15 per hour as of 10/1/17) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements.
