TZ PTO Minutes, May 3, 2018 Those in attendance were Dessa Frank, Erin Confer-Staggers, Megan Inman, Les and Lisa Martin, Heather Woodall, Tonya Welker, Kristina Babington, Tina Williamson, Suzanne Funk, Lynn Ishikawa Meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. Minutes were approved as read. Treasurer’s Report-approximately $7,000 in checking COMMITTEE REPORTS: Fifth Grade Farewell-The 5th grade committee decided to go with cheese pizzas from Pizza King cut in slices (not party squares) 2 slices/student. $8/large pizza with 8 slices; anticpate needing to order 4050pizzas and it will be ordered by Jack, from Jack’s Trash, who will be donating the pizzas to the 5th grade celebration. McDonalds is donating drinks. TZ will provide one free chocolate bar to each 5th grader. PTO water coolers will be used for water(Megan added pick up of coolers/tug-o-war/dodge balls/chocolate bars pick up and deliver to Harbison Field sign up sheet in Sign Up Genius-5th grade celebration). Headley Hardware providing the equipment for popcorn/snow cones/cotton candy. Greencastle Pediatric Practice will be covering the cost of the food supplies for the machines. We will use the PTO money and donations for the photo booth and will go with Happy Snaps-$475 will be the cost and Erin C-S will request the contract and the down payment from Jana and Erin will assist with set up/staffing/tear down of photo booth. Restaurant Nights-Scoops and Buffalo Wild Wings are willing to have restaurant nights for us next year. Megan Inman hadn’t heard back from other restaurants she had contacted. Box Tops-$150.20 earned in March 2018. NO REPORT Kroger Cards, Men’s Group Fitness Fanatics-We discussed how to improve how students are keeping track of their laps. The idea of different colors for day or keeping track by bracelet/lap or writing in a log at the end of the lap. The PTO decided this is a good project to give to the Student Council to help determine the best way to move forward. It was voted unanimously to eliminate it from PTO committees and move to agenda for Student Counci to officially request next year's TZ Student Council to add this issue to the agenda to improve how it works. PTO values this program but does not know how to fix the current problems as it currently stands. New 2018-2019 transition meeting tentatively scheduled for Monday, June 4 from 5:15 p.m. at TZ- Mr. Strube, Beth and Jana need to confirm date works. (Ideally meeting will happen between June 4-22.) STILL NEED CHAIR FOR Dad’s group: LT Taylor (not confirmed) NEW BUSINESS- Over 120 kids walked or biked to school today, May 3rd and water bottles were distributed. Little O ribbons already ordered and Mr. Phillips will manage the parent volunteers for Little O/Mrs. Perry helps too. 2018-2019 Officer Slate was voted upon and passed unanimously. Meeting was adjourned at 7:00 p.m.
