The CTE?s are also known as the Career Technology Education. They are classes that you can take that will prepare you for whatever you do when you graduate, like college or a job. Some of the classes are Agriculture, Business, and Family Consumer Science. Ms. Brown says that her favorite CTE classes to teach are Intro to Agriculture and Natural Resources. The class that Ms. Brown would love to teach is Food Products and Producing, but HHS doesn?t offer it yet. CTE classes will really help you with your careers after high school.

CTE Classes are Career and Technical Education Classes, and Mrs. Ortner teaches some of them here at HHS. Mrs. Ortner says that all of her classes are her favorite. In her classes, she thinks that projects and connecting learning to what you already know are her favorite things to teach. Mrs. Ortner doesn?t think that we need more classes, but we need more students to sign up for the classes we already offer. She thinks that kids who don?t take a CTE are missing out on fun classes and opportunities.

M r s. Nelson?s CTE Classes By: Em m an u el (EV) Vasqu ez CTE?s are classes that many students take here at Holyoke Jr/Sr High School. The classes range from agriculture to business classes, and they are all intended to help students prepare for vocations. A vocation is a strong feeling of suitability for a particular career or occupation. Of all classes she teaches, Mrs. Nelson?s favorite CTE class to teach is accounting. However, Mrs. Nelson wishes she could have taught more technology-related CTE classes.

High School Sports Volleyball By Erin Andersen Emma Roll is on the Holyoke High School volleyball team. She is the outside hitter on the team, and outside hitter is also her favorite position. Emma doesn?t really have a favorite coach; she loves them all equally. She is number 12 on the varsity team. Her favorite player to play with is Taeryn Trumper, but she thinks the hardest working player on the team is Grace Dille. Emma says that she thinks practices are never easy. Her team's goal this year is to grow together as a family and keep their heads up.

High Sch ool Sof t ball By Emma Thompson Jimena Nunez is in seventh grade this year and is having a fun time managing the HHS softball team. She says that it is a great experience to learn things for the future. Her favorite player in the team is Sarissa Casady. Throughout the summer, Sarissa helped Jimena out, so now she loves watching her play. Jimena also thinks that the hardest working player on the team is Corinne Raffaeli. Jimena thinks that she will definitely learn a lot throughout the year. She plans to play on the team as soon as she is in high school.

Foot ball By Clover Adler Aaron Sierra wears jersey number 19 on the Dragons football team. His favorite position on the field is linebacker, which is also the position he normally plays. Aaron?s favorite drill is routes, and his favorite coach is Coach Sprague. Aaron thinks that the team's biggest competitor is Wray, but he thinks that the team is ready for the rest of the season. He thinks that the most improved player on the team is Michael Pell. Aaron?s goals for this year are to get better.

Juni or Hi gh Sports JH Foot ball By St eph en M u r r ay Cade Killin, #81, plays A-team tight end and defensive end. Cade?s goal for this year is to win the championship. Cade thinks he?s doing really well on both defense and offense. He likes his play style on offense for touchdowns and defense for sacking the quarterback, and he doesn?t plan to change his play style for either one. For the championship game this year, Cade feels confident that the Dragons will make the game and win. On Tuesday, the JH Holyoke Dragons played the Imperial Longhorns. A-team scored 40 points for a Dragons win, and B team tied 8-8.

JH Volleyball By Max Kleve The JH Volleyball game on Monday was very exciting. The results were wins for the A team and B team, each winning in two games, and a loss for the C team in three games. Sabryn Burris plays on the A team in the outside left position. Her favorite position, however, is middle back. Her favorite person to play with is Kristin. One of Sabryn?s personal goals is to serve over the net. Sabryn likes ?Dig? out of Serve, Set, Block, Spike, or Dig. she thinks the most improved player is Erin Andersen. The team?s biggest opponent is Sterling.

Recently, Carmelo Anthony was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Enes Kanter and Doug McDermott. With this trade, the OKC Thunder have a dominant big three of Paul George, Russell Westbrook, and the new addition of Carmelo Anthony. With this big three, ESPN did a ranking of the NBA?s top super teams, and the top five are Warriors, Thunder, Cavaliers, Celtics, and Rockets. Also last week, Dwyane Wade was bought out by the Bulls, so he became a free agent. His top signing destinations were the Cavs, Thunder, Spurs, and the Heat. But later that day, he decided to sign a 1 year deal for 2.3 million dollars with the Cavaliers. The deal will reunite Lebron and Wade since they played on the Heat and won two championships together.

Last Sunday, there was a very unexpected win for the Buffalo Bills over the Denver Broncos. The Broncos came out pretty strong, with a tie going into the third quarter. However, the Bills scored twice in the fourth quarter and even some in the third quarter. Another unexpected win occurred last Sunday between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Chicago Bears. It started out looking really good for the Steelers. However, the Bears made the Steelers defense embarrassed by putting up enough points to send the game to overtime. Late into overtime, the Browns found a loophole into the Steelers defense to score a 19-yard game-winning passing touchdown.

M LB By Cade Killin As the regular season comes to a close, the playoff race is heating up. The Rockies are currently in the running for the second National League Wild Card spot. The Milwaukee Brewers and St. Louis Cardinals are close behind though, and it's anybody?s game. The other NL Wild Card spot has been clinched by the Arizona Diamondbacks. The American League Wild Card spots are between the Red Sox and Yankees, although one of them will win the ALL East and make it no matter what, and the Minnesota Twins who have already almost clinched a spot.

Review s Th e Su bw ay Ch ick en an d Bacon Ran ch By: Emmanuel (EV) Vasquez Subway is a really great fast food restaurant. They have all kinds of food like pizzas, subs, and ice cream, but my personal favorite sandwich is the chicken and bacon ranch melt. I usually get a footlong Italian herbs and cheese bread with American cheese. I love this sandwich because the combination of great meats is delicious. It also depends on what veggies you get. I?m pretty basic and just get lettuce, but I load up on the sauce. I add chipotle, ranch, parmesan, oil and vinegar, and salt and pepper. I highly recommend trying the chicken and bacon ranch melt sandwich at Subway.

Bai is a sweetened flavored water. It does not have caffeine in it. Bai gives you energy and is very tasty. Bai has many different flavors. Most people would say that their favorite flavor is Costa Rica Clementine or Strawberry Lemonade. I would recommend Bai to people that like flavored water or Gatorade. I would rate bai a four out of five stars. I would only rate it four stars because there are many flavor choices and it is tasty, but it can be very sticky if you spill it.

Happy Jacks may not be new, but it sure is tasty. I have been there a couple of times, and my favorite food there is the pork tacos. There are so many tasty meals to try there, such as pork and brisket sandwiches, mac and cheese, and even dessert. The desserts they have are ice cream, brownies, and peach cobbler. You can find this restaurant across from Kwik Stop. It is a place with a nice family-like staff and great food.

The Xbox One X is the newest Xbox design for 2017. The Xbox One X is supposed to have 4K video for a way better gaming experience, and to make it realistic. This high-tech Xbox One X is set to come out on November 1, 2017. Microsoft, which owns Xbox, claims ?it will be the most powerful console on the planet.? It seems that Microsoft has proven that his newly improved console is the most powerful console ever created. In my opinion, I would say that this Xbox will be worth it if you can afford it .

World News M assive Black Holes Discover ed By Cade Killin Scientists have discovered two giant black holes at the center of the galaxy known as NGC 7674, which is about 400 million light-years away. In 2006, scientists discovered two massive black holes at the center of the galaxy 0402+379, which is the only other set of two huge black holes discovered. The two black holes in NGC 7674 are separated by less than one light-year, while the black holes in 0402+379 are about 24 light-years apart. The discoveries were made at the Very Large Array in New Mexico.

In this tragic accident, six people were critically injured and four were killed. It was reported that somebody or some group planted the bomb under the road and it detonated after a semi drove over this part of the road. Even though nobody has taken the blame for this accident, it is believed that Muslim insurgents were to blame for it.

Ri said that North Korea had a right to shoot down the U.S. strategic bombers at any time. Trump has threatened to totally destroy North Korea if the U.S. is forced to defend itself or an ally. On Saturday, US bombers from Guam and fighter escorts from Okinawa, Japan, flew in international airspace over the sea east of North Korea.

Chancellor Angela Merkel will stay in the same position because she was reelected to her fourth term. The new parliament members are not good news for her or her alliance in parliament. In 2015, more than 1 million refugees and migrants entered Germany, but not all Germans liked the idea of welcoming them. They think the Muslim religion is a danger zone, and they must be watchful of them since Germany was under a terrorist attack.

In the judging, he had to identify plants and figure out the amount of cows a farmer could have on a certain range. Luis thinks he needs to improve in calculating. Luis has a favorite plant named The Blue Grandma. It could help him make it in into college. The next contest is in October 11. People who participated got a medal and are Kaitlyn Kent, Trey Bennett, Chase Beckner, Luis Chafino, Janessa Lutze, and Cole LeBlanc.

Rock ies Tr ip By Diego Jim en ez On Thursday, Sep 28, there was an FBLA Rockies trip so students could learn more about business. About 16 people attended the trip. Before the game started, some of the Rockies players talked to the students about business. Rylee Schneller and Haley Van Overbeke both attended the game. Their favorite part about what the players said was that you should be open to everything. Their favorite part of the game was when a man jumped over the fence and ran onto the field, and security had to stop him.
