Accelerated Reader-an ongoing program that spans form the beginning of the nine weeks until the end of the nine weeks. The students are presented a goal which has to be achieved by reading selections fitted to their reading ability. Students are than tested on comprehension by taking the test via a computer program. The program is non-discriminatory in selection. All students regardless of reading abilities are participating in the AR program. Success Strategies/Bridges Classes- students are screened to participate in the class. The class size is kept at 25 or below. Selfpaced curriculum in this classroom allows students to work on different objectives in which the software is divided. Students work their way through the objectives, practice each objective, participate in exercises and test out of each lesson. If they do not score high enough on the test, they must return to the practice and exercise portion of the program and retest until they can show mastery. American Reader- a program that is designed to increase reading levels. The program builds stronger reading skills in comprehension, spelling, vocabulary, and analyzing information. Students are identified through needs analysis and scheduled into the library to participate in the program.
