Actividad: Asistencia al curso 4th Advanced TB Diagnostic Research course Fecha: 7 al 11 de Julio de 2014 Lugar: McGill University, Montreal, Canada El curso consistió de 40 horas en total, a partir del lunes 7 al viernes 11 de julio del 2014. Al curso asistimos 82 personas de 20 países diferentes. El curso fue impartidos por expertos en el área de la tuberculosis a nivel mundial, representando instituciones educativas, de gobierno, privadas, laboratorios de análisis y representantes de la Organización Mundial de la Salud, Organización Panamericana de la Salud y Center of Diesease Control (CDC). Los principales temas que se trataron durante el curso fueron los siguientes: 1. Global value chain, pipeline, TPPs, TB diagnostics development 2. Market research, incremental value, diagnostic thinking impact, reference standards, patient impact, TB Tech Pitch 3. Implementation research, qualitative research 4. Meta-analysis, GRADE, guidelines, modeling 5. Modeling, cost effectiveness
Durante este curso establecí contacto con muchos de los investigadores que asistieron asi como con los organizadores. En este momento me encuentro en platica con algunos de ellos para someter un proyecto de investigación a la Fundacion Bill and Gates para la convocatoria del 2015.
Así también, me encuentro organizando con apoyo del Cuerpo Académico de Biomedicina, del cual soy líder, un Segundo Simposio de Tuberculosis, teniendo como ponentes a los investigadores que contacté durante el curso. Tuberculosis pleural Tuberculosis en cárceles en Colombia: factores de riesgo, diagnóstico y dinámica de transmisión.
El cursó me ha dado más de lo que esperaba, obtuve una gran cantidad de conocimiento, me actualicé en todo el tema del diagnóstico de la tuberculosis a nivel mundial, establecí contacto con una gran cantidad de investigadores que asistieron, y estoy incluida en diferentes listas de avisos y actualización académica de cursos, seminarios, congresos de la tuberculosis a nivel mundial. Este curso lo recomiendo ampliamente a cualquier persona que esté interesada en la línea de investigación de la tuberculosis.
